About

Why Ludolore?

When you open a board game box, you discover pawns, cards, a board. But behind each component, there are months — sometimes years — of work. An idea born in a café, hundreds of playtests, an illustrator who redesigned everything three times, a publisher who took the risk.

Ludolore tells these stories. Not game reviews, not rankings. Just the human adventure behind the box.

Who am I?

My name is Julien Aliaga. Passionate about board games, I’m fascinated by the creative process — how an abstract idea becomes an object you place on a table between friends. I created Ludolore to give a voice to the authors, illustrators, and publishers who bring this world to life.

How does it work?

Each article is built from direct exchanges with game creators. I contact them, we talk, and I retrace their journey, trying to do justice to their adventure. While dialogues may sometimes be reconstructed, the facts and emotions are authentic.

An ad-free website

Ludolore contains no advertising. The games featured are here because their story deserves to be told, not because someone paid for it. If you wish to support the project, you can do so freely — but it’s never an obligation.
